Rome is everything you imagine it to be and more – a place of wondrous history enjoyed amidst the neverending choice of the best traditional Italian food.
However Rome to me is about so much more than just the food and history – although these are undoubtably two of its most superb features – but being enchanted by that very intersection of ancient and modern.
It’s a place where ancient and modern collide: those age old relics on your doorstep are merely a stone’s throw from trendy garage coffee bars that wouldn’t be out of place in Brooklyn (or Hackney for that matter). That juxtaposition of chic and classic is one of the most fascinating things about Rome.
